A2 Milk, Is it A+?

There are so many different types of milk available in the supermarkets nowadays, which is great for all our Pimpsters with intolerance’s or dietary preferences. You have your soy, almond, rice, oat and the list could go on. They’re all pretty self explanatory. Oat milk, made of oats. Almond milk, made out of almonds. The one that has always had me thinking was A2. What is it? Why do we want to buy it? How is it made?

WHAT IS IT?

When someone talks about A1 or A2 milk, they are referring to the Beta-casein, a protein, found in milk. Fun fact! There are actually up to 13 types of Beta-casein found in milk, it is just that the A1 and A2 happen to be the most prominent.

WHY DO WE WANT TO BUY IT?

Simply put, digestion. A2 milk has be known to aide and ease digestion, for people who have had issues with dairy prior. The thing is, studies are still being undertaken with regards to the accuracy of this claim. It doesn’t hold out for everyone, some find it beneficial others do not.

HOW IS IT MADE?

Exactly the same way as regular milk. The only difference are the cows that the A2 company breed. The A2 company use DNA testing to ascertain whether the cow produces A1 or A2 in their milk.
